Apple Shuts Down iPad Production and Shipments

Print comment Post Comments
No more first-generation iPads! Everything must go!!!

According to 9to5Mac, Apple has ceased production of the original iPad and discontinued the shipments. This means that once supplies run out from shelves, that'll be it. No more original iPads. 9to5Mac adds that some retailers even expect the units to be gone by today.

But not to worry. Tomorrow, Apple will be hosting an event in San Francisco that's all but confirmed to be the unveiling of the iPad 2. Between the tablet-centric invites and the increased tablet competition, the timing's right for a revamped iPad.

We'll just have to wait the 24 hours to see.
