Apple Invades Grand Central Terminal

Looks like hipsters of Improv Everywhere just got an official headquarters.

This fall, purportedly around September, Apple will open its largest retail location to date inside New York's Grand Central Terminal.

And you thought it was hard to get to your gate before.

Speaking with unnamed sources, Cult of Mac broke news on the Apple Store Grand Central -- as it's been dubbed -- and reported that Cupertino will make the official announcement some time "next month or so."

According to the source, "The company will certainly pull out all the stops on this one."

Its opening will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Apple's retail locations. Being the largest Apple location in the world -- larger than its biggest shop in Covent Garden, London at 16,372 square feet of public space -- Cult of Mac said that it's still unclear where Apple could find that amount of open ground in Grand Central. But the source indicated that, in addition to figurative walls, Cupertino could be busting down literal walls.

Considering the location already receives over 700,000 visitors per day, Apple will be cashing in on one of the busiest sections of Manhattan. Already targeting Gothamites in four existing locations on the island, the Apple Store Grand Central looks to be on its way to regularly topping the number of visitors of the other four stores combined.
