After Food Riots, Are Water Riots Next?

Print comment Post Comments
The rising cost of food has played at least a supporting role in the protests sweeping Egypt, Tunisia, et al.

But the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington D.C. think tank, believes the next wave of trouble is on the way--and it's going to center around water.

Past water shortages have been temporary or small-scaled; future groundwater depletion will be massive and effectively permanent."
