As is the case with many dubious advancements in technology, 3D television has never been a question of if we can do it; it’s been a question of if we should do it.
Well, here’s the answer: Nope!
So far, consumers just aren’t buying it. In Japan "almost 70 percent saying they have no plans to buy a 3D TV for their home. Respondents said they were turned off by the special viewing glasses and also blamed steep price tags and scarcity of available content for their lack of interest."
But maybe there’s another reason for their disinterest.
Japanese cartoons -- with their brilliant colors and strobe light effects -- have long been blamed for causing seizures in kids.
What would happen if anime went 3D? Instant death?
