Samsung Amps Up Apple Bashing Before Super Bowl

As Samsung gears up for its Super Bowl spot to air on February 5, it made sure to squeeze in one last Apple (AAPL) bashing before the festivities begin.

A continuation of its "Next Big Thing" campaign, the maker of Android (GOOG) favorites like the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab finds itself, once again, poking fun at some Apple zealots waiting in line. Last we saw the Cupertino Clan, they were ogling the 4G speeds, free cloud storage, and multiple video markets available with the Galaxy S II. For this go around, it's Google's preloaded turn-by-turn navigation app that catches their eye.
 
There's also a dig at the similar design of the iPhone 4S to the previous model, with one lineholder lamenting, "Aww, that looks like last year's phone." Besides an unfair judgment of the superior model based on its casing, it's a bit ironic given that the Galaxy S II -- released last May -- is one of the "elder statesmen" of Android's rapid device churn.

But it's certainly not as cringe-worthy as the line, "We just got Samsunged!" Hopefully, that ill-advised catch phrase doesn't make an appearance in any more ads.

What would be nice is if we see the Galaxy S III by the time the Super Bowl spot rolls around. And at that point, we'll forgive snarky one-liners for BlackBerry (RIMM) and Windows Phone (MSFT), too.
