French Fast Food Chain to Launch Darth Vader and Yoda Burgers

BEGUN, THE BURGER WARS HAVE
DailyFeed
To do well in countries all over the world, fast food chains often customize their menus to suit the tastes of each specific market. Dow Jones (^DJI) component McDonald’s (MCD), for example, offers a bratwurst-stuffed Nurnburger in Germany and a potato croquette burger, the McAloo Tikki, in India. Not to be outdone, KFC China (YUM) once introduced Irish cream-infused chicken as part of a one-off “Taste of Ireland” campaign. Wendy’s (WEN), meanwhile, has just added a foie gras burger and a wasabi avocado burger to its menu in Japan.

With global fast food titans pulling out all stops to win market share, local restaurants have no choice but to match the zany menu ideas of their better-heeled competition. This year, French fast food chain, Quick, will launch perhaps the most eagerly anticipated burger since the McRib on our side of the Atlantic.

In conjunction with the 3D re-release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, the France- and Benelux-based chain will introduce two Star Wars-themed burgers, a “Jedi Burger” and a “Darth Vador Burger”, with the tagline being “Choose Your Side of the Force.”

Will French customers prefer the dark side and go with the suspiciously black Sith buns or will they choose the more vanilla-looking Yoda burger? Will hardcore American Star Wars fans take the opportunity to hope on a plane to Paris in order to literally taste the Force? All shall be revealed starting February.
