World's Largest Apple Store Won't Be Ready for Black Friday

For nearly a year, Gothamites have been anticipating -- and daily commuters have been dreading -- Apple's "grand" foray into one of the world's busiest locations: Grand Central Terminal. Plans for the retail spot were leaked back in February and indicated that it would be the company's largest Apple Store in the world. The following month saw a hiccup in the plans, but the store forged ahead, nonetheless.

However, while many expected to see the Grand Central Apple Store open for this holiday's mad Black Friday rush, Mashable confirmed with construction workers that it won't likely be ready by then.

"It won't be any time too soon," the worker told Mashable. "We still have a lot to do, so my guess is that it will be ready in December."

Ah, well. At least it'll have a head start on a New York-based Microsoft Store for... the foreseeable future.

In the meantime, Manhattanites will have to make do with Amazon's Android Phones for a Penny deal or any marked down BlackBerry or HP tablet.

Or, of course, the four other Apple locations on the island.
