No, Now THIS Is Android's Best Device!

Let's be honest: It's exhausting being an Android owner.

Not only are we forced to defend the platform to iPhone users, we also have to face the indignity of realizing that in a month's time, your once-flagship phone isn't as good as the newest Android creation. Sure, Droid Bionic users had their day in the sun for about a month now -- as long as you ignored that high-pitched whine in your earphones. But in less than a week, Droid Bionic owners will be pining over Android's next #1 superphone: the Samsung Nexus Prime -- or Galaxy Nexus, as it now might be called.

We knew this was going to happen when we refused to wait another month for the Galaxy Nexus, but it just stings to see the device's alleged specs laid out before us. Courtesy of BGR, here's what the Samsung device might be touting:
  • Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 9mm thin
  • 4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
  • TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 32GB of built-in storage
  • 5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
  • 1080p HD video capture support
  • LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
  • NFC
  • 1,750 mAh battery
Along with a pure Android OS (no skin here) and a stylish curved design, the Galaxy Nexus could very well be a Verizon exclusive.

Oh, what a coincidence! My Droid Bionic is also on Veriz-... Ugh.

Anyway, it could be as soon as this Tuesday that Samsung and Google unveil what will be the best Android device available, thus plunging the knife deep in the hearts of Droid Bionic owners everywhere.
