While unemployment continues to ravage this country -- enough to where Hallmark has launched a line of "Sorry you lost your job" sympathy cards -- no one will deny that a promising professional future lies in the tech industry. Bubbles grow and pop, but if you can write a killer line of code or streamline a web app design, companies will always need you.

But it's not like you won't have competition.

Each year, more and more tech-savvy graduates flood the market with résumés, often with expertise in a cutting edge programming language that launched only a month ago. Google receives an estimated one million applications each year. And how many does it hire? Four thousand at the most.

So how can you get your foot in the door? mocked up an informative infographic which details the ins and outs of landing yourself a job in tech. From improperly spelling "résumé" for better searches to specifying sales expertise, this infographic could give you a leg up in a continually growing job market.
