While we learned today that Netflix needs to work on its social media awareness, airlines seem to have the scene figured out. Granted, with having to defend itself for constantly introducing arbitrary fees -- second bags, first bags, saying the word "bag" -- they should at least try to reach out to the customers.

Airlines have been trying to stem the drop in travel and in-flight comfort by having a greater social networking presence. Through online marketing, advertising daily deals, and addressing customer complaints, social media has become crucial for the ailing industry.

Mashable's Lorena Guerra and Lauren Drell mocked up an infographic that details the many ways Virgin, JetBlue, Delta, and others utilize Twitter and Facebook to improve customer service and integration.

Hey, they have to compensate for seven-dollar Cokes somehow.
