iPhone Users Have Slightly More Hipster Cred Than Android Users

When we last saw Hunch, we were supplied with eye-catching infographics pitting Mac and PC users against one another, and perpetuating the war between Liberals and Conservatives. And now, Hunch is back with some stats pertaining to our biggest war at the moment: Android vs. iPhone.

In this edition, Hunch queried almost 16,000 users on the operating system their smartphone sported. Of the respondents, 32% had iOS, and 21% had Android. From there, subjects were given a variety of questions regarding their personality, political affiliation, education, personal tastes, and so forth. Obviously, some interesting contrasts emerged.

Android users are 71% more likely to be followers, and iPhone users are 27% likelier to be leaders. Android users are 12% more likely to be introverted, while iPhone users are 14% more likely to be extroverts. The former are more likely conservative, later adopters, and users of Yahoo Mail. The latter are more likely to be well-traveled, high-maintenance, and have a history of texting while driving.

But when it comes to personal taste, here's where the separation blurs a little. In fact, the matchup plays almost like a competition of hipster cred -- wherein the iPhone just edges out Android users.

In music, Android: Girl Talk, iPhone: The Antlers.

In TV, Android: Louie, iPhone: Portlandia.

In movies, Android: Tree of Life, iPhone: Midnight in Paris.

In books, Android: 1984, iPhone: A Visit From the Goon Squad.

But like with every Hunch infographic, it's all in good fun. Enjoy!
