Apple Makes Nice with Google+

Well, if Apple can approve the Google Voice app, this shouldn't have been a problem.

At long last, iPhone users can join their Android brethren and enjoy Google+ on the go.

Google's senior vice president of engineering Vic Gundotra announced the release on, where else, Google+.

"iPhone, meet Google+," Gundotra wrote and directed his followers to the iTunes page.

"Google+ for mobile makes sharing the right things with the right people a lot simpler," the app description reads. "Huddle lets you send super-fast messages to the people you care about most. And no matter where you are, the stream lets you stay in the loop about what your friends are sharing and where they’re checking in."

Like the Android app, the software provides access to Google+ Circles, users' various Streams, and Huddle's speedy group messaging. But unfortunately, like the Android app, Google+'s popular video chat feature, Hangouts, remains disabled for mobile devices.

Our condolences for those with front-facing cameras.

Another caveat: This Google+ app isn't a universal iOS app and will not run on iPads or iPod Touches, which is a real shame. I mean, how can you restrict access to chubby li'l cheeks like this?!

But I'd stay clear of Fred Gilbert if I were you. He looks a little... off.
