Could it be? Did Apple bestow frustrated AT&T customers with the alternative they longed for, and it just didn't create the prolonged exodus everyone expected?
Well, at any rate, Goldman Sachs analyst Jason Armstrong predicts a sales slump for the Verizon iPhone when the carrier announces second-quarter results. He told Bloomberg that "iPhone sales will likely be a touch below the 2.2 million" units which Verizon moved in the first quarter. And if you recall, the company only started carrying the iPhone at the start of February -- more than a month into the quarter.
Nevertheless, Armstrong foresees a sales drop-off despite the full three months of availability in the second quarter.
However, not all devices took a dip since March. Armstrong reports that the HTC ThunderBolt -- one of Android's higher-end devices -- exceeded Verizon's expectations after meeting several investor relations execs from Verizon Wireless. I guess 500,000 activations per day accounts for something.
But come September, the iPhone 5 will likely shake things up more than a bit.
Or are people just waiting for the iPhone 5?
