Apple Still Leading Android in Enterprise, Study Says

Print comment Post Comments
BlackBerry may be king, but Apple is still riding high in the office.

Last month, Good Technology found that the iPhone 4 on AT&T and Verizon held a commanding lead over Android devices in the enterprise. And when it came to the iPad versus competing tablets, it wasn't even close.

And today, another study from Intermedia -- the largest global hosting provider of Microsoft Exchange -- shows that 61% of ActiveSync-based smartphones activated on Intermedia's service are iPhones. Android trails with a mere 17%, with Palm, Windows Phone 7, and others taking up 22%.

As for tablets in the enterprise, it's a sad state of affairs for any non-iPad device. The Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Xoom, and Huawei S7 don't even amount to one-fifth of a percent in market share.

Although Good Technology expects Android to eventually overtake iOS devices at the corporate level, according to Intermedia's recent study, it has a long way to go.
