Prove Your iPhone Is Faster Than Android, Win $1,000!

Apple fanboys in Seattle: It's time to put up or shut up.

T-Mobile is betting big on the Samsung Galaxy S 4G. The carrier is so confident in its Android device that it's hosting a speed challenge this weekend -- pitting the Galaxy S 4G against the iPhone. Armed with either AT&T or Verizon-equipped devices, iPhone owners will be able to walk into any of Seattle's ten T-Mobile locations and sign up for the competition. If Apple's flagship device proves victorious, T-Mobile will give you $1,000!

But it's not a sudden death match. According to T-Mobile's blog, the iPhone must win two out of three speed tests using an app that the carrier provides.

"T-Mobile has been making significant investments in our network," the company claims, "which is why we are confident our smartphone can beat the iconic iPhone, which runs on Verizon's and AT&T's 3G networks." Adding, "This speed challenge will give Seattle area iPhone users the chance to see for themselves why we are so excited about T-Mobile's 4G network and why now is a great time to be a T-Mobile customer."

Seems like a can't-lose opportunity for iPhone owners in Starbucks Country. Nothing ventured, everything gained.

And given the number of tech-savvy individuals in the area, there's always the chance that T-Mobile's 4G network "accidentally" suffers a Verizon-style tumble this weekend.

Just sayin'.
