In a stunning display of extreme fiscal pragmatism, the owner of a bumper car concession in Taizhou, China decided to transport two cars to a local amusement park by driving them there.

England's Metro news reports:

Officer Liu Yulin, who was monitoring traffic on a CCTV system, said: "I saw on the screen that a man was driving two bumper cars. He sat in between the cars, and each foot stepped onto one gas pedal. I immediately radioed the officer at that road section to go and check."

Officer Xiao Hu then stopped the yellow cars and their owner, a Mr Zhang, who said he was moving them to a local park. He claimed he was driving them there because it was the most economic way of transporting them.

Although the officers knew the bumper cars were not street-legal, the law does not stipulate a specific penalty for such an infraction.

Zhang was let go with a warning.
POSITION:  No positions in stocks mentioned.
