RUBY PECK FOUNDATION
Friday September 5, 2008

Will we ever learn? We hope so!
In an age when the business community is concentrating more on the former than the
latter, we in Minyanville are doing our part to help better serve the educational needs of our communities. We are proud to be a leading contributor to the Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education. The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education is a non-profit organization dedicated to a broad base of educational programs.
Among its goals are:
* To foster the growth of general education and to promote the
love of learning among all ages.

* To spearhead the development of educational programs to work in conjunction with schools, businesses and the community. Through our alliance with East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP), we're looking to enhance the knowledge, skills and interest of children and youth. This mission is achieved by staff and volunteers who provide a range of services, including one-to-one tutoring, as well as youth development and family support programs.

* To develop scholarship programs for students based both on need and on academic achievement.
* To raise funding to support both its own internal programs and those of its fellow organizations.
* To collaborate and build alliances with other foundations and diverse programs to further the goals of education.

* To encourage the use of technology, creativity and innovation in children's education. Through our alliance with Reading Rainbow, children's reading skills are fostered in a creative and fun way.
* To recognize and reward successful academic programs and educators around the nation and around the world for their commitment and achievements.
* To serve as a bridge between the academic and business
communities and to enable contacts and opportunities that they can share.
* To introduce musical instruments and instruction to underprivleged children. Through our alliance with Little Kids Rock, we're helping to do just that. Little Kid's Rock believes that all children in our public schools deserve music education. We're proud to join them in their efforts!
* To promote the involvement of both family and community in schools and other academic programs. Through programs like The Los Angeles Mentoring Partnership, The RP Foundation promotes the resources for members of the community to provide quality programs, recruitment and training that support superior mentoring of children.
* To initiate and coordinate internet-based
collaborative learning projects for school children both nationwide and worldwide.
Minyanville is a community built upon a partnership of school, business and learning. In addition to being the permanent home for the Ruby Peck Memorial Library, Minyanville will donate 10% of the net proceeds for every item sold at Harrison's Department Store to the Ruby Peck Foundation. Please support our efforts by visiting Harrison's Department Store on Main Street for all your fashion needs. And stay tuned for additional philanthropic developments from the Minyanville community. If you'd like more information on how to join our network of educational, financial, and community leaders who practice and promote the very best in education, or to make a financial contribution to the Foundation itself, please send and email by visiting the contact us page.
