James Anderson
After graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Ph.D. in X-ray Crystallography, Jim joined Advest, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut as a biotechnology analyst in 1981. In 1987, he moved to The Travelers Insurance Company where he invested in alternative energy projects and telecommunications. In 1998, he started the venture capital program at Travelers which he managed until 1997. In 1997, he founded Lantern Hill Capital which provides management consulting services to start-up companies.
He has been an active trader since 1998, taking occasional breaks from daily trading when he returned to his academic roots to serve as a part-time Adjunct Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Connecticut from 2001-04.
