Of course it’s the middle of earnings season so investors will awaiting results from Apple (AAPL), Amazon (AMZN), Caterpillar (CAT), Boeing (BA), and Microsoft (MSFT) to name a few. Also, keep an eye on Consumer Confidence and GDP which will be released on Wednesday and Friday.
The events above are big, but they aren’t even the highlight of the week. On Wednesday, the FOMC will announce its decision on interest rates. No change is expected but watch for new language in the statement as well as changes made the Fed’s purchase program which is expected to end soon. Then later that evening President Obama will give his state of the union address. Will he talk more about his attempts to destroy Wall Street? What about healthcare?
Did I mention that Apple releases the much anticipated Tablet on Wednesday as well?
