Economics, earnings reports, and market events for the week ahead.

Next week we have GDP data from the major European countries that saw a downturn in market prices this past week. Any economic data from France should be heeded as current President Nicolas Sarkozy will be facing elections later this spring and his success will rest upon the economic progress of his country. Also in Europe is the Eurozone ZEW Confidence Sentiment reading, which has risen over the past three months after the European Central Bank’s LTRO (Long Term Refinancing Operation).
European finance ministers will be meeting on Wednesday for another emergency meeting to discuss the fate of the Greek bailout. Currently, they have told Greece that they are expecting another 325 million euros in cuts from the existing 3.3 billion that was agreed upon Thursday.
In the US, the Treasury will sell cash management bills for the first time ever, in order to meet temporary shortfalls. We also have housing data, which will be important as there has been widespread discussion on whether or not we have seen a bottom in the housing market. We also have the real inflation number for the US, which will be of interest since the Fed has deemed inflation to be under control.
Key earnings reports include Zynga (ZNGA), Metlife (MET), Marriot (MAR), Comcast (CMCSA) and Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF).
