Loans
I think we are close, the fed is being forced to direct lend, plus the loan mods should stabilize things. I'll go out and buy a new car at a <2% rate!

Don't ask me how I know, I would have to kill you.

Regards to all.

October 27th huh...
One thing is certain... We will Definitely test yesterdays lows. There aren't many certainties in this trading business, but I feel strongly that the above statement is one.

Look at almost every real and true LOW, they always get retested, some multiple times. So we will either tear through yesterdays low, or bounce higher once it is tested.

...my two cents

Time to upgrade
I am willing to go out and take one of those newer SUV's off of someones hands.

Yep, for $7,500 I'm willing to take a 2005 or newer expedition fully loaded!!

I will then sell my 2000 for same price with $1,500 down and carry the paper at 10%

It boggles the mind.
Years ago a friend told me that while drilling on the North Slope they were encountering mahogany at depths of 1000 feet which implies that the North Pole area was at on time tropical. That would mean that for some reason the earth tilted or flopped on its side to reverse the equator with the north and south poles. Now with the polar ice caps melting and Wall Street starting to freeze up does that mean we should be buying property in the Arctic again? Dam! Who would have thought investing would be so difficult?

deleverage breakdown
Hi Todd,
I am interested in your macro estimate of the deleveraging: derivatives of all sorts vs problem mortgages of all sorts.
Thanks

Dow at 1200
What you don't seem to understand is that the Dow will reach 1200, probably in 3 weeks. We have an economic collapse now.

Since nothing can be valued, we have to turn our attention to facts. We must have an immediate ban on housing evictions, which I have been advocating since my book appeared two years ago (The Eminent Domain Revolt).

There will be a declaration of economic emergency in a couple of weeks, then you may--MAY--see a move toward a ban on housing evictions.

You need at least 1M in cds to cover a potential loss!

S&P 973 was the floor today. For now. Fibonnaci point of the Oct 2007 closing high. A bounce now? High high? Enough to sucker people in? Then where is the real bottom? That's what concerns me.
