Toddo On TV: Close to Home

Markets, movers and more.

Minyanville's heaviest hitter, Todd Harrison, weighs in on beleaguered regional banks. First Third Bankcorp (FITB), glutton for punishment of late, said second quarter non-performing loans will come in 40% to 45% higher than in the first quarter. That's an astonishing number. Merrill Lynch (MER) has already lowered estimates for financial institutions of this ilk.

Big Oil -- Exxon Mobil (XOM), Royal Dutch Shell (RDS-A), BP PLC (BP) and Total SA (TOT) -- is returning to Iraq. The pilgrimage should add another 500,000 barrels of crude output per day on top of the country's current production of 2.5 million barrels daily. It could help ease prices for the end user, but only marginally. What it won't do is help global perception of America's motivation for the war.

Guess what? Today's the first day of summer. Toddo asks, "What would be your summertime investment picks?" Consider companies that cater to the "staycation" - all the fun and relaxation of a vacation without any of the expense or travel.
