Two Ways: Apple's Latest Innovation - Affordability?
Strengthen your portfolio in good times and bad.
An analyst at Sanford Bernstein predicts Apple (AAPL) will soon announce a new version of the iPhone in an effort to boost sales and reach more cost-conscious consumers.
Reuters reports Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi said at a New York technology conference today that an announcement could come as soon as a few weeks. Sacconaghi also suggested a prepaid payment system could be in the works.
The analyst also expects Apple to offer the iPhone sans data plan. Currently, this is a prerequisite at an additional cost of $30 a month.
Shares of Apple rose 3.4% today to $126.50.
From the Bull Pen: Props to Professor Jeff Cooper for mentioning last week the stock could tag $120 and then be on its way to the 125 strike. If buying the dip continues to be the strategy, one might consider using the ol' trailing stop technique 2% below entry.
From the Bear Cave: A nearly 90% up day on the NYSE, but AT&T (T) can barely muster any strength. Bears pressing the downside can set a buy stop above $25.50.
