Every once and a while, I take a peek at the accompanying chart that compares the tops of the Nikkei and the SPX. It never informs my day-to-day or even week-to-week actions or thoughts, but I find it grounding nonetheless. And because history tends to rhyme rather than repeat, it's something I try to return to at least quarterly.

Hope you find it's perspective useful as the tick to tick action can sometimes blur the larger picture.

ps - When I was in the 4th grade, ZZ Top's song "Sharp Dressed Man" was all the rage (especially with my teenage sisters). Being especially impressionable, they convinced me to wear a suit and tie to school one day. A suit and tie. 4th grade. Needless to say, I got a ton of grief for doing it (as my sisters expected). Thus, the above title; every chance I get, I try to pay homage to ZZ, perhaps in an effort to expunge the lingering embarrassment.
