Dare to dream!
Note: Our goal in Minyanville is to remove intimidation from the financial markets and encourage an interactive dialogue among the Minyanship. We share this next discussion with that very intent.
Wanted to drop you a line before you split and let you know my thoughts on yesterday's piece "Give yourself a Hand." Your "digression into the palpable and collective frustration" I believe hit the preverbal nail right on the head.
It reminded me what it was like prior to working and writing for the 'Ville. I wanted to thank you and let you know that I have personally learned more, being associated with the team you have assembled, than I could get out of any 10 books (the way I formally self-educated as a techie).
No Todd -- It is for people like you, who have a dream, a dream of how to bring educational, informative, illustrative and humorous imperative commentary across to the millions wandering aimlessly looking for the light -- it is you that should get the "Hand." I am proud to have my name associated with your dream.

Thank you--I have never been very good at accepting complements (especially publicly) but wanted to post your missive in the Mailbag for several reasons. First and foremost, there are Minyans in our midst who are exploring the 'Ville for the first time and the moving parts are a lot to digest. As it's a drifty Friday and we're spent after a long week, I thought it might be alright to digress for a moment and paint the vision for all to see.
Our goal in Minyanville is to change the face of creative financial infotainment. In a time when fiscal fitness is critical to self (and family) preservation, most folks are either too intimidated or disinterested in furthering their understanding of the minxy mechanism. It's our hope that by building an interactive community that is laced with perspective and smiles, we can deliver a critical message to an ever-increasing audience.
In my mind's eye, the learning ladder of education extends from pre-school to old school and the ABC's to 401(k)'s. We want to plant the proactive seeds in children, carry the experience through adolescence, become a staple in the college community and bridge the gap between generations. It's more than an animated financial reality show--it's a spirit and mindset that will allow us to make better decisions and, quite hopefully, maintain a more positive and balanced perspective in general.
I've always said that Minyanville is only as strong as the people who believe in it. Our growth has been organic--from both a content and readership standpoint--and we rely on our fellow Minyans to help spread the word and further the dream. I truly (yet humbly) believe that before we're through, the critters will have changed the world.
Have a great weekend,
Todd Harrison is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Minyanville. Prior to his current role, Mr. Harrison was President and head trader at a $400 million dollar New York-based hedge fund. Todd welcomes your comments and/or feedback at email@example.com.
