There sure are a lot of special Minyans out there!
Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past,
And with this crutch, its old age and its wisdom
It whispers, "No, this will be the last."
I am rarely left speechless but last night, at the Four Season's hotel bar, I found myself without a word to say. Jordan Farkas, Doug Kass and Tennessee Jed Pomerantz had asked to meet me for a drink and I was happy to do so. As the critters mingled with the crowd and Daisy caused her usual stir, I saddled up to the table with my fellow Minyans. They all had goofy smiles on their face, including Snoop Tone who had made a surprise cameo. I was a little... nervous.
They proceeded to pull out a guitar case and place it on the table in front of me. Inside was a pristine Fender Stratocaster classic guitar (think Jimi) and -- this is the insane part -- it was signed by some pretty incredible people. I was gonna just come out and tell who's on it but, on second thought, I wanted us all to have some fun. As such, I'll pose it as a quiz to the Minyanship and the first person to guess the right answer will win a spankin' brand new Minyanville Fleece!
If you were to name the greatest money managers of all-time, who would you choose? The first Minyan to correctly identify TEN of the correct signatures will win the contest. Send your emails to firstname.lastname@example.org and good luck!
As for the guitar, it will be auctioned off on Minyanville and the proceeds will benefit The Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education. I am absolutely floored by the generosity and effort that was involved in this kind deed.
Jordan -- you da man! Dougie -- very well done! Jed -- snaps on arranging the vault! And a special thank you to Airborne Express for their tireless (and free!) service!
The spirit and energy that has cultivated in our humble little town is indeed special. We started Minyanville with a vision: to provide an educational platform that strived for a greater good. Through the selfless deeds and generous nature of people like YOU, a lot of children are gonna lead happier and more fulfilling lives. And no matter which way the ticks flicker or cookie crumbles, that's a trade where everybody wins.
Have a peaceful weekend!
