Think Pink

NICE! I'll finally get to wear my little school girl outfit! Easy there, Tony...I'm taken!

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

(Pink Floyd)

Will somebody please show me the answer? I'll give you a hint, Cush went to a southern school that produced one of the game's great runners (who spent some time with the Raiders). They never say the school during the movie -- but you can see it on a poster in Jerry Maguire's office. Alright, that's two hints -- now somebody come and claim the free Minyanville tee!

Back in the land of flickering ticks, the flutterfest continues as the day drags on. Our main tells are marginally equity friendly -- the dollar is firm, the breadth is grinding with a constructive tone, Citigroup (C:NYSE) is attempting to find some traction and the semicaps seem to have an underlying bid. The one outlier is crude oil which, as it stands, is pushing higher.

I've heard "never short a dull tape" a few times over the years and it's hard to argue with an age-old adage. I've done a bit less today and while I want to keep some out-of-the-money puts on in the financials, I'm conscious of the "impatience" in the marketplace. Traders are gripping the handle bars rather tight and, as such, a quiet and listless tape is likely more bullish than bearish (heading into the close). Still, regardless of your posture, we must remain cognizant of the looming resistance, widespread complacency and potential risk.

In Minyanville news, I've (finally) been given the nod to announce the University professors on May 1! The classes are slated to begin shortly thereafter and I'm certain you'll find it worth the wait. We've got some A-listers coming aboard whose only agenda is to share their skill set and further the greater good of education. This is the vision of Minyanville, my friends: sharing, teaching, philanthropy and positive vibes. Thank you all for supporting our efforts and turning dreams into a reality.

As always, I hope this finds you well.
