Follow-Up

By

maybe tomorrow

We've still got an hour left in the day's trade but I wanted to give a quick follow up to this morning's Monday Hangover piece. Of the nine days that accurately predicted today's close (asssuming it is lower), the next day opened higher in all nine and the close was higher in seven of the nine.

As well, I've got a pretty compelling analog for a "counter-trend Tuesday" trade tomorrow. Here's the query: the day is Tuesday and the SP futures closed down more than 1% for two consecutive days AND failed to trade positive for two consecutive days. With those assumptions, there were only five occurrences and the next day's pattern strongly suggests a higher open, push lower, and higher close pattern for tomorrow.

I'll post the details tomorrow but I wanted to give you a heads up. Remember Minyans -- this assumes that today's close is down more than 1% and most important -- past performance does not indicate future results.
