Things that make you go Hmmmmm

  • 5-10% upside for the year sounds kind of boring...unless the market is down 5-10% first.

  • It is easy to see you are winning with burning tanks in a desert, it isn't so easy to see when it is potentially in an urban environment. WE WILL WIN, but it won't be as easy to tell as it was in 1991.

  • That is the big surprise...we get the event and no one knows what to do with it.

  • There is no greater joy than playing Monopoly with your kids, especially when you lean over and tell them you are going to lace 'em like a shoe and they jump on your head like a pro wrestler.

  • This site is as fun to read, as it is educational. I have a great time laughing with Toddo, and an even better time laughing at myself.

  • Once Iraq is out of the way, we still have many issues to grapple with geo-politically, economically, fundamentally (valuations) and technically. Be careful to not overemphasize Iraq when forming a long-term investment strategy.

  • Do you really think the guys and gals driving the tape are expecting a down year because January was negative?

  • If anyone even had a clue regarding the amount and quality of Casey and team's background work - they would be truly shocked!! We throw her kudos because she is the best and is the reason we have the honor of writing here.

  • Why can't I stop repeating "shocker fokker" in my head? It is like one of those songs that you can't stop humming.

  • I am looking long, but waiting for the proper evidence. If this is lining up to be another intermediate-term low, there should be plenty of time for upside action.

  • On Bloomberg radio, when asked what I thought of rate inaction by the ECB, I responded by saying many decisions in the Euro Zone are scary on a number of fronts, especially that basing monetary and military decisions on hope contrary to evidence wasn't a very smart policy. Various countries in the ECB think that more time will help Iraq be good and that the economy will be better in the second half of the year. Uhhhh - how bout some evidence PLEASE!!!!

  • The potential for an overthrow or assassination is real enough to keep short pressers at bay. In itself, that could prevent the spike that so many are hoping for.
