Tantrums and Randoms

By

You talkin' to me?!

By way of answering the question "why so quiet today?", this:

ghk9p8y23rnmjav q4 v54 2

... is the string of letters that result from smashing your left fist ("Never a hit a drunk with your throwing hand") on a keyboard 3 times in rapid succession... if, hypothetically speaking, you were the type of person who may be inclined to throw that type of tantrum in response to spending your day dealing with the logistics of a job you no longer have.

Not that I don't have some opinions and observations about today's flow, I just don't have time to flesh 'em out much. So I won't even try.

Said another way: Macke Randoms!

  • Re: The TiVo (TIVO) announcement of Marty Yudkovitz departure... all part of the same housecleaning that is resulting in Ramsay leaving. If they hire the right CEO, TiVo HQ is going to look like the aftermath of William Wallace betrayed. A "shake-up" is long overdue.

  • Why does Oracle (ORCL) keep giving Zod-Daddy Ellison all those options when he dumps them with both fists? If you were a board member wouldn't it gripe yer arse to dole out another package when he sells in million share blocks?

  • GM and Ford (F) had simply horrible numbers today. GM cut North American production by 8.9%, offering that sales were "a bit sluggish". Ford truck sales were down 16.7% but doesn't see that as a sign of missing to come. [Nodding sarcastically]

  • So much for eBay (EBAY) having reached an over-sold bottom.

  • In retrospect, I wish I had been Bullish on Saturday...

  • But I still don't think the Iraqi elections mattered to the tape at all.

  • "What do you mean, 'media horror'?"

  • Oh.

  • Google (GOOG): I regard the report tonight the same way I view The Apprentice and the last 104 seasons of Sex in the City ... I'd like to care enough about them to have an opinion on "What they mean" in the big picture. Really, I would. I'm just not crazy about the I-need-a-hot-bleach-bath-and-a-box-of-SOS-pads-to-clean-myself feeling I get every time I have contact with any of them.

  • Golf season has officially arrived to the Bay Area and I'm going back to those logistics.

  • I'm waaaaaay too surly about the above to risk expanding my Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) position at the moment... don't trade angry.
