Minyan Mailbag - Help For Those In Need
This is the season of giving Back.
While working from home this morning I got the below email from my Office Empress, Laura Voight.
The text speaks for itself. All I can see fit to add is that it's a tribute to the 'Ville, and intended as high-praise for Laura, that the first thing I thought after digesting was "She's a born Minyan without even knowing it" [note: I don't force her to read my stuff... no one should be forced to deal with me all day AND read me].
Welcome to the 'Ville, Laura and thanks for doing the leg-work on how we can provide some help from so very far away!
Dear Friends & Co-Workers,
I have been so overwhelmed by the news and video of the Tsunami.
Between the war in Iraq and this, the world really needs some community help.
Be part of the help, you don't have to donate much, but if each of us donated even $ 5 we could really make a difference. Grassroots efforts, and it needs to start somewhere, every little bit WILL help. I really want to encourage everyone to take 5 minutes to donate OR do something. Donate blood, send a letter, just join me in DOING SOMETHING. GET INVOLVED, get your friends, your family and your kids involved. We can make a difference. Right now you can donate online at the Red Cross for disaster relief. Same with Amazon.com.
To support the soldiers, there are so many websites that will help. FedEx has free shipping to soldiers, anysoldier.com has supplies they need, two KIDS (8 & 11 maybe) started cellphonesforsoldiers.com.
Please do something, we have so much to give.
