Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on Main Street,
Chicago, New York, Detroit and it's all on the same street.

(Grateful Dead)

Good morning and welcome back to the flickering pack. It's been a nutty stretch for the Critter Caravan as we've had our show on the road. Four cities in six slammed days isn't my definition of fun but it's an unavoidable reality while building a business. Alas, we're not yet settled as we've gotta shoot down to Charleston for a 24 hour turnaround. Take me at my word when I tell you that I'm looking forward to returning to the warm confines of the 'Ville and scribing vibe with some consistency.

As I haven't seen a screen since late last week, I wanna take this opportunity to discuss some happenings in our hood. Minyans were recently notified of a "price adjustment" and while most of the feedback has been friendly, we want to share the thought process behind the decision. The Minyanville community is predicated on forthright communication and that's particularly apt when discussing delicate issues.

We didn't arrive at this decision lightly as we didn't want to alter the community DNA we've worked so hard to establish. We're well aware of the disconnect between perception (all-time highs!) and reality (times are tough) and we pride ourselves on being part of the solution. After all, as we collectively toggle towards the "haves" and "have nots," our mission has always been to help Minyans find the right side of that fork.

With that said, we haven't raised rates since early 2004 and don't plan to do so again for a long time (if ever). We put a ton of money into making this platform, and the content it supports, world class. I've personally invested a lot of time and capital and would put my last red cent into this dream if need be. Minyanville is where Walt Disney meets Wall Street-and I have confidence that my investment will bear beautiful fruit-but I didn't found this company, nor do I continue at this tenacious pace, simply to get paid. I believe in the deepest confines of my being that the world needs a trusted choice for a financial voice.

In arriving at these new rates, we looked at the competitive landscape and asked more than 100 random Minyans what they thought the Buzz was worth. We're loyal to our existing community and have taken strides to do the right thing. As such, we're extending an offer to existing Minyans to lock in an additional year at a discounted rate. It nets out at less than an additional $15 per month, which we're confident will pay for itself through the idea generation and thought provocation found on the Buzz & Banter.

If you haven't already, take advantage of this exclusive offer for existing Minyans by clicking here.

As we roll into 2007, we'll be taking great strides in building our community. The Exchange will allow Minyans to interact with Minyans on a global basis. While our content is currently "preacher to congregation," this functionality will allow our community to adopt a "congregation to congregation" dynamic. This isn't about looking to attach the buzz words "social networking" to our model. Minyanville is currently read in 111 different countries-organically, without marketing muscle or advertising efforts-and this is a natural extension. Those who have attended Minyans in the Mountains will attest to benefits of commingling. And those who are joining us on December 1st in Manhattan (for the kids!) will surely say the same.

So, yes-we've adjusted the price for the Buzz & Banter but we haven't done so in vain. And we haven't forgotten where we come from, which is born from the belief of ye faithful. We're a work in progress-a growth story that will twist and turn as we continue to learn-and we sincerely hope that you choose to share this journey with us. We won't be all things to all people but we'll certainly try to offer a little something for everyone. That's who we are. And it's where we're going.

Good luck today.
