With Thanksgiving night, it seems an entirely apropos time to reflect on the things that we should all be thankful for in our lives. And in that spirit, I thought I'd share a few of the things I am most thankful for.

I am thankful that...

• I am able to write for Minyanville and support the Ruby Peck Foundation

• John Succo has, despite its immense unpopularity, maintained a focus on risk

• Losing a beer bet to a friend is still better than winning it

• Toddo breathed in the vapors of Crested Butte, CO not once, but twice

• Murray Rothbard gave us so much before he passed away

• The 2003 rally has taught me invaluable lessons

• Toddo continues to quote some of the funniest movies ever made

• So many readers have sent their support to my family

• Playing hard and losing is better than winning without effort

• Tony sticks to his guns and provides a larger perspective

• Keynesian economics is in its last throes

• Almost everyone thinks Robert Prechter is a crank

• Jason keeps reminding us that sentiment is important

• Philanthropy is a bedrock of this site

• Minyan subscribers are such a smart and engaging group

• Breakfast with Brodsky is the best early AM brain food around

• The Fed's aura of invincibility is slowly starting to crack

• John Succo actually wrote about natural log

• A nascent understanding is afoot that metal is better than paper

• Brian Reynolds has forgotten more about bonds than I will ever know

• The Mises Institute continues to fight the good fight

• My daughter Ella brightens my life each and every day

• My wife is stronger than I am

• My son Jackson is stronger than us both

So whenever you find time tomorrow, do those things that affirm our collective thankfulness for life's ups and downs: kiss your Grandmother, tell your parents you love them, hug your kids, throw the ball to your dog, call your sisters or brothers, drop some change in a Salvation Army bucket, make a losing bet with your best friend, forgive a transgression, send an email to a soldier serving abroad, or otherwise dedicate yourself to being a better father, mother, child, friend, sister, brother, grandparent or colleague to the loved ones in your life. Give thanks, and it will be returned to you manifold.
