Is Boo About to Put the Hammer Down?
"I've got meetings for most of the next two days," I said to the Critters, "Can you guys behave for Collins and Meehan?" To a metaphorical beast the crew smiled at me, nodding the way kids do while plotting terrible mischief.
Sure enough, I walked in this morning to a scene of cartoon horror that would make Wile E. Coyote blanch. Boo was at the wheel of a small truck labelled eBay (EBAY). He was revving gleefully and singing along to CW McCall's "Convoy", blaring over the PC speakers in the office. An exceptionally furious Hoofy had his front hoofs tied to Boo's fender. His body was strung tautly over the floor, reminiscent of a (vulgarity spouting) pig on a spit. The anchor allowing the effect was the reliably motionless Meehan, to whom Hoof's "feet" were tied. Young Bill didn't notice, dozing gummily as he was. Only his feet occassionally twitched, presumably in puruit of dreamt bunnies.
Playing shamelessly to Daisy, Boo broke from the lyrics to trot out his best "Truck-drivin' CB Radio Guy" voice:
"Breaker Good Buddy, this here's the Smokin' Hot Bear... heat up the grill cuz' I'm bringin' home steaks for the weekend! Green futures givin' me the green light to put 'em out... I'm picking me up one saucy cow and truckin' into the weekend! C'mon back 10-4, pig pen 10-80 c'mon."
Whle Boo chortled and winked at Daisy, Hoofy continued to struggle against his restraints. Unencumbered by thumbs, the Bull was thisclose to slipping free. Meehan subtly twitched and made kind of a whimpering noise... he was either waking or picking up the scent of another bunny.
Was Hoofy overplaying his convoy of bad news? Does General Electric (GE) trump eBay? What does Sci-Atlanta (SFA) blowing up the same day Cablevision (CVC) throws in the towel on Voom mean to the cap-ex telco money-dump mean? Is the "best earnings come first" theory in full and horrifying effect, with eBay/ Qualcomm (QCOM)/ Capital One (COF) foreshadowing a weeks of bitter disappointment?
I'm takin' a David Attenborough approach and letting the Trials of Life follow their natural course without my interference. We'll likely have a good clue for how it plays out today in the next hour. Remember, it's okay to place your bets during the day... play it cool until you get an edge.
