Trading Radar: Economic Data Picks Up

Economics, earnings reports, and market events for the week ahead.

After a slow week of economic data, the pace will pick back up during the coming week with a slew of producer and consumer prices from the US. Over the past six months, these figures have been slowing, causing increased calls for additional quantitative easing. Retail sales are also an important indicator as falling sales in the spring months were a great leading indicator for falling equity prices.

The US will, for the first time, sell 15-day cash management bills on Tuesday. Last week's note and bond auctions saw weaker than normal demand.

In Europe, Germany and the broader eurozone will report growth numbers with expectations for additional slowing month-to-month. Eurozone industrial production will also be reported on on Tuesday.

Key earnings reports include Groupon (GRPN), Home Depot (HD), Cisco (CSCO), Target (TGT), and Wal-Mart (WMT).
