MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Next week will be on the extremely light side as Monday and Tuesday will be disrupted by the Christmas holidays. On Monday, which is Christmas Eve, US markets will be open until 1:00 p.m. EST. There should be little to no action, as it will be determined by computer-based trading. On Tuesday, which is Christmas Day, US markets will be closed.

Later in the week, the S&P will release the Case-Shiller Home Price Indexes. On the manufacturing side, the Chicago Fed will release the PMI manufacturing index and the Richmond Fed will release its manufacturing index.

Globally, China will release industrial profits and a leading index of economic indicators on Thursday. Japan will also release a slew of data including employment data and industrial production data.

In the holiday-shortened week, there will be no earnings reports.
