MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Jobs data will be the highlight of the next week, along with additional information pertaining to this Friday's GDP figures. The first estimate for 3Q GDP saw the US growing at an annual rate of 2.0%. If the PCE Deflator figures come in as expected, this would imply real GDP growth of 0.4%. Friday's nonfarm payroll estimates expect a monthly gain of 120,000 jobs, up from last month's 114,000. However, the unemployment rate is expected to rise from 7.8% to 7.9%.

Globally, the highlight of the week will be the Bank of Japan's rate decision. Because the BoJ's cash rate is already near zero, its only way to stimulate the Japanese economy is through asset purchases. It is widely expected that the BoJ will increase its asset purchase plan by 10 trillion yen, or about $160 billion. Outside of monetary policy, Germany will report the employment figures and the eurozone will report a number of consumer confidence figures.

Earnings wise, the highlights will be Visa (NYSE:V), Mastercard (NYSE:MA), Exxon Mobil (NYSE:XOM), Ocwen Financial (NYSE:OCN), Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), Ford (NYSE:F), General Motors (NYSE:GM), and LinkedIn (NYSE:LNKD).
