The Midday S&P 500: FDA Report Is Poison for Monster Beverage's Stock Price

Plus, despite its recent success, investors are betting against VF Corp.
MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Today the S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) is down .62% to 1,425.31 as of 2:30 p.m. EDT. Today’s big winner is Peabody Energy (NYSE:BTU), which rose 9.66% to $28.66 per share due to its overly positive estimates on natural gas profitability. In contrast, the apparel company VF Corp. (NYSE:VFC) is down by 5.06% to $158.26 per share despite reports that the company beat estimates on a 25% rise in revenue. Today’s big loser is Monster Beverage Corp (NASDAQ:MNST), which has fallen by 13.43% to $46.16 per share after reports from the FDA alleged that its energy drink has killed five people in the past year.
