The Midday S&P Is Down Following Obama's Victory

Certain energy stocks and life insurance companies are dismayed at Obama's victory.
MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) is down today falling 2.10% to 1,398.23 as of 2:30 p.m. Today’s big loser is Peabody Energy Corp (NYSE:BTU), which fell 9.62% to $26.23 per share due to a sell off of oil, coal, and gas stocks in response to President Obama’s reelection. Also down is Lincoln National Corp (NYSE:LNC), which fell 7.75% to $23.81 because of a life insurance slump after the election results. On the other hand, Tenet Healthcare Corp (NYSE:THC) is up 10.10% to $27.30 a share on reports that the company could actually benefit from Obamacare.
