MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (^GSPC) is up 1.15 or .11% as of 2:45 p.m. EDT.

Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) is on the rise today, continuing the streak it started last Friday. It has gone up 1.16 or 1.74%.

Everyone's favorite condiment brand, HJ Heinz Co. (HNZ), also rose 1.50 or 2.66%, most likely due to CEO William Johnson's recent announcement that the company expects strong first-quarter earnings.

E*TRADE Financial (ETFC), however, is today's big gainer, increasing .27 or 3.22%.

In contrast, Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) is continuing its losing streak, falling .33 or 1.89%.

CONSOL Energy (CNX) is also continuing to fall due to the declining price of coal and natural gas, losing .74 or 2.30%.

Finally, Hudson City Bancorp (HCBK) is today's big loser, falling .17 or 2.21%, despite its massive 15.77% rise yesterday.
