The S&P 500 Mid-Market Report: China's Stimulus Aids United States

News of China's stimulus plan is providing a big boost to the coal industry in the US.
MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (^GSPC) is soaring even higher today, gaining 25.92 or 1.80% as of 2:30 p.m. EDT. Leading the pack again is Alpha Natural Resources (ANR). The stock gained .91 or 12.40% in response to China’s newly announced stimulus package, which has increased the demand for coal. Naturally, Alpha’s rival Cliffs Natural Resources (CLF) is also benefiting from this news and has risen 3.05 or 7.43%. Water filtration company Pall Corp. (PLL) may also be celebrating China's new plan as it has enjoyed an increase of 4.86 or 8.35% so far.
