The Midday S&P 500: The Index Is Up the Day Before the Election

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) is up .04% to 1,413.67 today most likely due to the market's anticipation over the upcoming election. As of 2:15 p.m. EST today, today's big loser is Wynn Resorts Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN), which fell 7.81% to $111.44 per share, despite beginning trades on its ex-dividend this morning. Also down is Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), which dropped 6.43% to $91.86 per share after reporting mixed earnings this quarter. Today's big winner is Cameron International Corp. (NYSE:CAM), which rose 5.23% to $52.18 per share.
