The Midday S&P 500: The Index Is Up the Day Before the Election

Wynn Resorts and Time Warner Cable are trading low, while Cameron International is pushing up the basic materials sector.
MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The S&P 500 (INDEXSP:.INX) is up .04% to 1,413.67 today most likely due to the market’s anticipation over the upcoming election. As of 2:15 p.m. EST today, today’s big loser is Wynn Resorts Limited (NASDAQ:WYNN), which fell 7.81% to $111.44 per share, despite beginning trades on its ex-dividend this morning. Also down is Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), which dropped 6.43% to $91.86 per share after reporting mixed earnings this quarter. Today’s big winner is Cameron International Corp. (NYSE:CAM), which rose 5.23% to $52.18 per share.
