Midday S&P 500: First Solar Falls After Stock Downgrade

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL Today the S&P 500 (INDEX:.INX) is up .13%$ to 1463.37 as of 2:35 p.m. EDT. Today’s big winner is Avon Products (NYSE:AVP), which rose 6.47% to $17.27 per share in response to news that its Executive Chairman Andrea Jung would leave her post to take on a more advisory role. Another big mover is Owens-Illinois (NYSE:OI), which gained 4.60% to $20.25 per share, thanks to an upgrade to buy by Goldman Sachs. First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) is back as the biggest loser, falling 11.89% to $19.87 per share, after Avian Securities analyst Mark Bachman downgraded the stock on concerns of product reliability.
