MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq (INDEXNASDAQ:.IXIC) were ASML Holding (NASDAQ:ASML), Marvell Technology (NASDAQ:MRVL), and PowerShares QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) as of 8:45 a.m.
Investors exchanged 2,506,221 shares of ASML Holding, which was up $0.46, or 0.90%. The Law Office of Brodsky & Smith announced that it is investigating potential claims against the Board of Directors of Cymer (NASDAQ:CYMI) related to the proposed acquisition by ASML Holding. ASML announced on Wednesday that it will buy Cymer for 1.95 billion euros, or $2.55 billion, in cash and stock.
Investors traded 2,121,816 shares of Marvell Technology, which was down $0.99, or 11.21%. Marvell cut its forecast for its third quarter yesterday. Management stated that sales will probably come in between $765 million and $785 million, which is lower than the prior projection of between $800 million and $850 million.
Investors also traded 837,813 shares of PowerShares QQQ Trust, which was down $0.21, or 0.31%.
