Holiday Gift Idea: Buy 'Money For Nothing' and Support Typhoon Haiyan Victims

You still have time to purchase the DVD or Blu-ray through Minyanville.

Minyanville Media is showing its support for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan by donating 20% of the sales from the revealing and controversial documentary Money For Nothing: Inside The Federal Reserve to the Ruby Peck Typhoon Haiyan Relief Fund. The film, written and directed by Jim Bruce, was released in theaters in September and details both the history and the current state of one of the most powerful financial institutions in the world.

Money For Nothing is narrated by Liev Schreiber and features commentary from a number of industry professionals, including Paul Volcker, Janet Yellen, and Peter Atwater.

Minyanville's own Todd Harrison, who is also featured in the movie, praised the documentary in his review, saying, "The history is rich with power and intrigue, leaving the audience with enough information to make an educated decision about the motivations and agendas of those pulling the fiscal and monetary puppet strings."

Steven Perlberg of Business Insider also applauded the film and its account of Fed history, saying "If Farhenheit 9/11 was Michael Moore's seminal repudiation of George W. Bush's foreign policy, Money For Nothing is writer/director Jim Bruce's similar critique of the history of the Federal Reserve."

Money for Nothing: Inside the Federal Reserve is still available to buy on DVD and Blu-ray through Through the end of December, proceeds from sales will benefit the Ruby Peck Foundation's Typhoon Relief Fund, and thereafter will go to the Ruby Peck Foundation for Children's Education.
