PowerShares QQQ Trust and Electronic Arts Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq

MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ), Electronic Arts (EA), and TriQuint Semiconductor (TQNT) as of 9:10 a.m. Investors traded 1,295,848 shares of PowerShares QQQ, which was down $0.13, or 0.20%. Investors traded 917,487 shares of Electronic Arts, which was down $0.93, or 6.20% and 620,505 shares of TriQuint, which was down $0.81, or 14.67%. Shares of Electronic Arts rose today as the company announced along with ESPN that the fans selected Calvin Johnson Jr., a wide receiver on the Detroit Lions, to appear on the cover of Madden NFL 13. The fans of the game voted in large numbers with 19.6 million fans voting compared to last year's 12.7 million fans. Investors think this hype around the game will generate a lot of sales for the company. TriQuint's stock plunged on the news of expected weak mobile demand for the second quarter. The company projects to lose between $0.10 and $0.15 per share on revenues of $170 million to $185 million in the second quarter. Analysts had anticipated earnings of $0.05 on revenues of $223 million.
