Sun Healthcare Group and Onyx Pharmaceuticals Among Most Active Stocks in Pre-Market Today on the Nasdaq

Celgene Corporation was down this morning.


MINYANVILLE ORIGINAL The three most active funds and stocks in pre-market trading on the Nasdaq were Sun Healthcare Group (SUNH), Onyx Pharmaceuticals (ONXX), and Celgene Corporation (CELG) as of 9:15 a.m. Investors traded 10,931,121 shares of Sun Healthcare Group, which was up $2.21, or 35.99%. Sun Healthcare Group will be bought by Genesis Healthcare for $217 million. Genesis is paying $8.50 per share for Sun Healthcare, or a 43.1% premium to Sun Healthcare's closing price of $5.94.

Investors traded 3,809,812 shares of Onyx Pharmaceuticals, which was up $16.92, or 37.95%. Onyx's myeloma drug Kyprolis received approval from the Food and Drug Administration's Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee. The FDA will likely complete the review for approval on July 27. 

Also traded were
2,672,048 shares of Celgene Corporation, which was down $7.46, or 11.11%.
