Last-Minute Election Coverage

Two Minyans’ last-ditch attempt to get you to vote for their candidate.

This is it.

After all the rhetoric, scandals, surprises, primaries, polls, pundits and predictions, the final decision now rests with the only thing we can really trust: The will of the people.

Every election cycle is billed as the most important of our lifetime, but this one feels like the real thing. The country is starved for leadership, and the economy could use some spirited cheerleading. Let’s hope the best man wins.

But just who is that best man? On that point, staff writer Scott Reeves (in the tank for John McCain) and editor Cory Bortnicker (voted early for Obama) have, well, a fundamental disagreement.

Echoing the constructive debate that is the hallmark of any good campaign -- and with a little haste thrown in for good measure -- they offer up eleventh-hour cases for why you should vote for their guy on the basis of their economic platforms.

As they say, choose or lose.
