- Not sure who had not heard of Wynn's (WYNN) LasVegas add-on project, but apparently enough people to jack this puppy up another $300M of market cap or so. This is now an $8.2b enterprise value for a company that has yet to open its doors. Boo wacked me over the head and pushed me into some defined-risk exposure. As an aside, Transact Technologies (TACT) already has the contract for the first WYNN property in Vegas.
- To keep things "fair and balanced" I also obliged Hoofy by legging into a little Microstrategy (MSTR), which is getting bludgeoned on the news that its auditors fired the company; the 10-K for 2004 is out though and I did not see anything that made my nose scrunch.
- Some of the nergy names have moved 2% up and down about 3 or 4 times in the last 4 hours. Don't know what it means but it feels nutso.
- My 66 year old father has joined the "iPod People".
- If GM marks the beginning of the end of the liquidity game . . . the companies that make those things that people live in (I am still in rehab and can't actually mention them) are going to have a much tougher time "crushing the shorts".
- Truck loads of "Head & Shoulder Shampoo" have been spotted traveling toward lower Manhattan to stem what appears to be a dandruff pandemic. UPS, ACS, CDWC and BBOX are but four of a slew of "weekly" accidents waiting to happen.
- During a presentation this morning Portfolio Recovery Associates (PRAA) suggested that the "means testing" of the Bankruptcy Amendments will benefit them. I am growing curioser and curioser to see how.
- Akamai (AKAM) has just acquired the only source of non-competition that was out there. As AKAM management often states, "customer inertia" is now the only remaining competitor.
- Tivo (TIVO) is not just a verb, it is / will soon be, the center of a couch-potato's life.
- Wynn has gone from up $3 when I started randoming to red-dye. That's the way ah-ah ah-ah, I like it - ah-ah ah-ah. And with that tune now firmly implanted in your brain I'll send you back to your regularly scheduled market melt-down.

Position WYNN, TACT, MSTR, AAPL, BBOX, PRAA, AKAM, TIVO (and a couple of names in an industry I cannot mention)
