After a restful weekend, Todd's back and flirting with the tape from his usual perch. We're currently at an historic extreme for the undervaluation of gold relative to oil, he intones. An article by Professor Lance Lewis published Friday echoes the sentiment. Investors concerned about geopolitical tension or inflation should pay this proper mind and may want to consider a pairs trade - long gold, short crude. When the ration begins to turn in favor of gold, the rising value and decreasing fuel costs will benefit miners.

For a random thought, he notes the high level of social acrimony and recommends some introspection: Be part of the solution, not the other way around.
